PropertyWalk — Privacy Policy

PropertyWalk (the "App") is a property-inspection tool operated by Hegenes Properties ("we", "us"). Property managers use the App to complete required walks of a property by scanning QR checkpoints and recording short inspections. This policy explains what the App collects, why, and how it is handled.

Information we collect

• Account information — your name and email address, used to sign you in and associate your walks with you. Accounts are created by your organization's administrator; the App is for authorized staff, not the general public.
• Location — when you scan a checkpoint, the App reads your device's GPS location to confirm you are physically on-site at the property (an anti-cheating check). We store the coordinates and accuracy of each scan. The App only reads your location while you are actively logging a checkpoint; it does not track you in the background.
• Photos and camera — the App uses the camera to scan checkpoint QR codes, and lets you attach photos of issues you flag during an inspection. Those inspection photos are uploaded and stored for your administrators to review.
• Inspection data — your answers to the inspection questions and any notes you enter.
• Basic device/log data — standard technical information needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use your information

We use this information solely to operate the property-inspection service: to record that walks were completed, to verify they were done on-site, to surface flagged issues and their photos to administrators, and to email walk reports to the recipients your organization configures. We do not use it for advertising.

How your information is shared

• Within your organization — walks, findings, and photos are visible to administrators and managers in your organization who have access to that property.
• Service providers — we use trusted vendors to run the App: Supabase (database, authentication, and photo storage), Expo (app delivery), and Resend (report emails). They process data only to provide these services to us.
• We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Data retention

Walk records, inspections, and photos are retained for as long as your organization needs them for property-management and compliance purposes. Your organization's administrator can request deletion of records.

Security

Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure and protected by row-level security so each organization can only access its own data. Access requires an authenticated account.

Your choices and rights

You can decline the camera or location permissions in your device settings, though the App needs them to scan checkpoints and verify you are on-site, so it will not function without them. To access, correct, or delete your personal information, contact your organization's administrator or us at the address below.

Children

The App is a workplace tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
